This blog is dedicated to sharing the concept that our hands are essential to learning- that we engage the world and its wonders, sensing and creating primarily through the agency of our hands. We abandon our children to education in boredom and intellectual escapism by failing to engage their hands in learning and making.
The first and 2nd graders made toy horses to go with the Navajo families, stories and dwellings they are making in their classroom.
The 3rd and 4th graders are nearly finished with their study of the rain forest, but they ARE studying fractions. So we made fraction blocks for adding and subtracting fractions.
