From Blokes and Sheds: by Mark Thomson... In praise of disorder
Order and disorder in a domestic shed are one of the great sticking points of domestic harmony. In a home that is the very picture of good taste, organized and polished to within an inch of its life, why does the bloke insist on having this revolting festering wound of a shed? The shed is an outbreak of dirt and chaos in what is otherwise a serenely ordered world. And therein lies the secret. If life has been reduced to a series of routines, there's a powerful need for a safety valve that allows the pressure of organization, appearances and expectation to be released. The shed is that valve, somewhere to go a bit slack... Of course, there's nothing really wrong with an ordered shed. Arranging possessions in a systematic way can give a shed owner a great sense of satisfaction -- the joy of meeting the challenge of cataloguing so many diverse bits of stuff. It means that , finally, he can sit back and enjoy the majesty of it all spread before him.
In other words, please feel free to send me your shop photos even if yours is not a mess.
