seeing and making beauty


We think that we humans are the only ones to see and make beauty, and yet such narrow-mindedness seems to be another human quality we might need to overcome.

The photo above is a bower bird construction designed to entice a mate. The image is from last month's National Geographic.

Not exactly my taste in decor, but if it works for the bower bird...
They're not the only animals who change their environment in that way, as I remember.
