The Bradshaw Foundation has a collection of primitive Hand paintings shown at this link It might be of interest to contemplate these images of the hand as we in turn contemplate our own hands.
This blog is dedicated to sharing the concept that our hands are essential to learning- that we engage the world and its wonders, sensing and creating primarily through the agency of our hands. We abandon our children to education in boredom and intellectual escapism by failing to engage their hands in learning and making.
Reminiscent of some of the designs I've seen in the American Southwest. Too bad we don't know what they had in mind when they drew that hand. A hand held palm out in some cultures meant "peace," since it showed that there were no weapons being held.
