Yesterday the Clear Spring School was in the Artrageous Art Parade, launching the May Fine Arts Festival in Eureka Springs. The theme of our float was "Take Flight with the Clear Spring School."We passed out 550 balsa wood gliders to guests.
Folks seem to have been pleased to receive something other than candy. Some said, "I have 5 grandchildren, may I please have 5?" So it was hard to get the number of gliders we had to stretch to the end of the parade.
Today I make a presentation on Kindergarten at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 17 Elk St. in Eureka. The service begins at 11 AM.
Now for some educators, Kindergarten is for reading and preparing for the rigidity of formal schooling. For some educators, it is now the new first grade. When it was invented by Froebel, Kindergarten was about preparing the child for the wholeness of all life.
Make, fix, create, and increase the likelihood that others learn lifewise.
