This blog is dedicated to sharing the concept that our hands are essential to learning- that we engage the world and its wonders, sensing and creating primarily through the agency of our hands. We abandon our children to education in boredom and intellectual escapism by failing to engage their hands in learning and making.

The mountain of parts
I am making progress on the fitting of tongue and grooved parts to fill the bridle jointed frame of the Greene and Greene inspired kitchen. What you see in the photo are the tongue and grooved parts held together with tape, and ready to fit inside the frames at the time of assembly. This is complicated and precise work with many pieces to organize. The tape is a blessing as it holds the necessary parts in order. Next I will rout and sand the frames to prepare them for assembly.
