This blog is dedicated to sharing the concept that our hands are essential to learning- that we engage the world and its wonders, sensing and creating primarily through the agency of our hands. We abandon our children to education in boredom and intellectual escapism by failing to engage their hands in learning and making.

table frame
I have assembled the table base for the maple slab I finished on Saturday. It will get three coats of Danish oil and then be ready for the top to be fitted.
Today I will do prep work for classes tomorrow at Clear Spring School. Our kids are finished with their trips, having arrived home, worn out from the intense learning. And one of the important lessons is getting along with others in the kinds of challenging circumstances that travel can present.
