This blog is dedicated to sharing the concept that our hands are essential to learning- that we engage the world and its wonders, sensing and creating primarily through the agency of our hands. We abandon our children to education in boredom and intellectual escapism by failing to engage their hands in learning and making.

Periodic table of elements
In our high school chemistry class, we are finishing up our periodic table of elements as you can see in the photo. Of course, the framework and lids are only a very small bit of the amount of work that has gone into the collection of samples and the analysis of materials for inclusion in the collection. Interesting things happen in education when you have enthusiastic teachers, empowered to explore their interests and share them with kids.
